Relations...

We've all come to the stage in life where we're experimenting with love & relationships(teens/young adults). Is it just me or has the length of modern relationships shorter than relationships of the past? Doubt it's just me. Why is that? We'll of course it differs by person and situation but what are the general reasons? I'm no anthropologist so don't take my words as truth due to the fact that they're truth to me (if you too then great).
My honest, heart felt opinions are that society as a whole plays a role in this. Men often look at women as objects and its glorified in the media. If you watch videos on cable networks or television shows its cool to get mad chicks, like cmon. Television today and yesterday are two completely different things. Shows like Family Matters and Fresh Prince were replaced with Flavor of Love and Real World. From family orientated programs to shows that portray nothing but sex, alcohol intake and violence. Like my man Jeezy said, "It's A Crazy World" but its quite true. At the same time though women don't get off scotch free. I understand the whole independent women movement but women tend to get carried away to the point where it gets disrespectful. Not talking out my ass just off my own personal experiences in life.
Relationships require time, effort, being able to compromise and more importantly communication (things my relationship barely have but we're working on). The world that we live often hinders how people progress together. People have their own troubles and problems in life and to add someone into that situation sometimes seem foolish. Like dead ass, right now my own personal issues and the issues of my "girlfriend" are probably causing our relationship more harm than good but its a process. A learning process, a life lesson and all that good shit you need to know. I'm no relationship expert but shit if we all could master those four basic guidelines the world would be a better place. No "busting the windows out my car" or "getting that groupie love" because then all that wouldn't be necessary. If people just took the time and effort to give a little, take a little and talk things out then maybe we could prevent such careless behavior.
STD's in this current day and age is causing havoc in the United States. One in four people in NYC has herpes? Are you serious? The number 1 killer of African American women in the United States is HIV? Whoa Whoa Whoa. I guess you people aren't seeing the pattern. I'm off again until something else crawls into my mind.
Love, Peace and Understanding . . .

i loveee this. i had a relationship blog as well. check it out when u get a chance. its crazy & really sad though. i was reflecting on this shit a couple days ago. how modern relationships are completely about who can play the game better. nowadays its all about control & domination. blah, these fag ass reality shows arent helping either. its ridiculous. my little "relationship" or whatever lacks communication AND compromise so its kinda on the rocks. but i know the shit takes time; & i know if i do my part thats all that matters. i'm rambling though, but i totally agree.<3

by the way i happen to love that jazmine sullivan song, suckaaa. ;]
